EXPO 2027 Yokohama has been recognized at the BIE General Assembly

EXPO 2027 Yokohama has been recognized as an international horticultural expo under the 1928 Paris Convention at the 171st General Assembly of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), held in Paris, France, on Monday 28 November.
At the General Assembly, following video messages from Mr. SAITO Tetsuo, the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and from Mr. YAMANAKA Takeharu, the Mayor of Yokohama, Mr. KOMURA Masato, Secretary-General of the Japan Association for the International Horticultural Expo 2027, Yokohama, gave a presentation on the Expo 2027. This was followed by a BIE flag handover ceremony, where representatives of the Japanese Government, the City of Yokohama and the Association received the BIE flag.

EXPO 2027 Yokohama has now been accredited by the BIE as an international horticultural expo (the highest A1 class international horticultural expo) in accordance with the international convention. Receiving the BIE flag at the ceremony, we once again kept in mind to do our best for the success of the expo.
 We will release the expo master plan, then together with the Japanese Government, we will start invitation activities for the countries and international organizations to participate in the expo.
 With the continued support and cooperation of everyone involved, we will accelerate the preparations for the expo that everyone around the world can look forward to.
