— All life is interconnected. With plants at the center. —

The Themed Pavilion explores how humanity can learn from plants and living ecosystems to coexist with nature and address the global challenges posed by climate change.
Designed as a CLT timber structure that promotes both carbon neutrality and nature positivity through Nature-based Solutions, the pavilion draws inspiration from the rationality and intelligence found in living organisms. Its architectural form evokes the presence of a living being.
Through immersive experiences centered on plants, visitors will encounter the profound interconnectedness of the “real world” sustained by countless forms of life.

— Discover, experience, and carry Japanese horticultural culture into the future —

The Horticultural Culture Pavilion introduces Japan’s traditional horticultural culture, shaped through a uniquely Japanese relationship with nature.
The architecture incorporates traditional Japanese construction methods and follows a staggered layout that responds to the existing topography. With planted green roofs that connect seamlessly to the earth, the design harmonizes gently with the surrounding landscape.
Through living displays and hands-on experiences, visitors can encounter the aesthetic sensibilities and cultivation techniques passed down since the Edo period.
The pavilion invites reflection on coexistence with nature, connections within local communities, and the richness of the human spirit—while carrying this cultural heritage forward into the future.

— A new discovery with every visit —

Following its previous use as the Japan Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai and later as the Women’s Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, this structure will be reused once again, becoming its third life at an international exposition.
The facility embodies the concept of “GREEN Circular Architecture” promoted by GREEN×EXPO 2027, while also continuing the sustainability initiatives advanced by Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.
Throughout the Expo period, visitors will encounter vibrant exhibitions featuring flowers and greenery from Japan and around the world. In addition, a rotating exhibition space will present new displays from companies, organizations, individuals, and local governments approximately once a week, ensuring that each visit offers a fresh and unique experience.
